Close to 300 people attended the Funky Monk Fish & Music Fest held on June 22 at the Golden Nugget raising $26,000 to further benefit the Scott E. Monk, DO Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund honors the life and teachings of the former medical director of the Trauma Center at ARMC. This year’s awards were presented to Alexander Nieves, of Ventnor, Nediya Griffith, APN, of Galloway, and Sarah Pineda, RN, of Egg Harbor Towhship, at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s 18th Annual Trauma Symposium at Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino on May 3. “Scott was passionate about learning, teaching and providing exceptional patient care,” said Monk’s wife Nancy Monk (featured left to right: David Monk, Nancy Monk, Pienda, Griffith, Nieves, Margaret Belfield and Lori Herndon). “His legacy lives on in this scholarship, and we are honored to support others pursing their passions.” The Monk family’s efforts and all those that support them are sincerely appreciated.
