The Heart Institute at ARMC provides every level of cardiac care. There is no need to transfer patients to hospitals out of the southeastern New Jersey area.
The expert team at the Heart Institute at ARMC — specially trained cardiac nurses, cardiac advanced-practice nurses (APNs), physician assistants, cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, and cardiothoracic surgeons — cares exclusively for cardiac patients. They do so in a facility and with equipment and technology that are state of the art.
The proximity of the surgical suite to the cardiac catheterization (cath) and electrophysiology (EP) labs allows for immediate and seamless transfer if surgical intervention is needed. There is no delay or need to transfer the patient to another facility.
Patients who have complex heart problems, such as an arrhythmia that requires one procedure and another condition that requires surgical intervention, can have both procedures performed by experts in their respective fields — at the same time, during one hospitalization, followed by one period of recovery.
At the Heart Institute at ARMC, patients have access to nearly every surgical and technological treatment for heart disease available today.
