AtlantiCare Healthy Schools, Healthy Children
to hold "Chefs in the Classroom" healthy cooking demonstration

                 and eighth grade students; and Chef Belle of Kitchen 19

What:        To participate in “Chefs in the Classroom” healthy cooking demonstration

When:       Friday, March 11, 1 - 2 p.m.

Where:      Weymouth Township School
                 1202 Eleventh Avenue, Dorothy, NJ 08317

Details:     AtlantiCare Healthy Schools, Healthy Children is partnering with Chef Olivia Bellano, “Chef Belle”, of Kitchen 19, to bring healthy cooking demonstration to approximately 55 middle school students at Weymouth Township School in recognition of National Nutrition Month. Chef Belle will demonstrate healthy recipes for “Garden Sushi” using fresh vegetables and “Chocolate Chip Spread,” which uses chick peas and nut butter as a base. Students will sample the snacks and take home the healthy recipes.

About Chefs in the Classroom
Local chefs, members of AtlantiCare’s Growing Green Chef Council, in partnership with AtlantiCare, visit AtlantiCare Healthy Schools, Healthy Children participating schools to offer a healthy cooking demonstration. HSHC organizes demonstrations for any Healthy Schools, Healthy Children partner schools in order to encourage healthy eating habits, and to demonstrate healthy recipes that students can make at home.

The AtlantiCare Growing Green Chef Council is a distinguished group of culinary experts working in the greater Atlantic City area committed to increasing access to healthy food for community members, and providing them with the food preparation skills necessary to lead healthier lives. The Growing Green Chef Council uses its passion, expertise, and circles of influence to support the growth and sustainability of AtlantiCare’s Growing Green initiative.
