AtlantiCare Healthy Schools, Healthy Children
area students produce healthy eating infomercials

The AtlantiCare Healthy Schools, Healthy Children (HSHC) program recently held a "Fruit and Veggie Infomercial" video contest for K-12 students of participating HSHC partner schools. Students submitted videos, packed with puns and nutrition information, and showcasing a wide array of acting, singing and rapping talent. The contest is one of several events HSHC is hosting during National Nutrition Month.

The young producers, editors and actors shared their excitement for healthy eating in a whimsical, enticing manner. "I'm a-peel-ing to everyone," boasts Banana in It's Good to Be Healthy. "Mr. Tomato couldn't make it; he's feeling rotten," croons Miss Grape on Food Talk.

Like the other HSHC is hosting this March, the focus of the infomercial contest was intended to encourage students to think creatively, to get them moving and interacting, and to engage them in healthy activities and healthy eating.

AtlantiCare's Healthy Schools, Healthy Children educators named Don't Stop Eating Healthy, submitted by Dr. Joyanne Miller School, Egg Harbor Township, and It's Good to Be Healthy, submitted by Cedar Creek High School, Egg Harbor City, as grand prize winners. Both schools were awarded $250 to put toward wellness initiatives.

AtlantiCare offers congratulations to finalist videos, which were awarded $100 each:
