Details:   AtlantiCare representatives will mark the 200th presentation of an automated external defibrillator (AED) through the AtlantiCare Heart Heroes Program when they donate the device to representatives of the Bayview Volunteer Fire Company. The AtlantiCare Heart Heroes is an AtlantiCare Foundation-funded program that places automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the community on behalf of the Heart Institute at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. The program began in 2002, spurred by a small group of dedicated AtlantiCare volunteers who were known as "The Heart Heroes", who raised funds to help AtlantiCare make AEDs available in the community.

Organizations, groups and individuals can donate directly to the program, which has placed 199 AEDs in the community, by making a gift to the Foundation.

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's Heart Heroes Matching Funds Program has presented 199 AEDs throughout Atlantic, Cape May and Ocean counties since 2012, helping to build healthy communities. In recognition of this being the 200th presentation, AtlantiCare is covering the full cost of the AED.
AtlantiCare representatives will also recognize the founding volunteers of the ARMC Heart Heroes Program.
