In recognition of National Diabetes Month, AtlantiCare will host a free Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, November 19 at the AtlantiCare LifeCenter, 2500 English Creek Avenue, Building 200, Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey from 9 a.m. to noon.
Bhavin Patel, D.D.S., a prosthodontist with Seaview Dental Arts in Galloway Township, NJ, will give a ‘Diabetes and Dental Health’ presentation at 9:30 a.m.
Cooking demonstrations will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Meeting Room on the first floor of the LifeCenter. Chef Brianna Manning of Kitchen 19 – Chef Bri - Creative Culinary Center in Hammonton, NJ, will lead the demonatrations. Chef Bri and AtlantiCare’s certified diabetes educators will discuss healthy cooking options for those in attendance.
Six AtlantiCare certified diabetes educators will be on-site to assist attendees and share information about AtlantiCare’s:
¥ Group education classes
¥ Individual diabetes education sessions
¥ MEET ME @ 7 education toolkit – including the MEET ME @ 7 app
¥ Community support groups
¥ Diabetes cooking classes, which are open for all who want to learn to prepare easy and healthy meals
The fair will also include free giveaways, gift baskets, freeraffles, and refreshments. Vendors will offer information on glucose monitors and other diabetes products.
About Chef Brianna Lee Manning (“Chef Bri”)
Manning has worked as a chef for over 10 years. She was in active duty in the United States Coast Guard for four years as a food service specialist with duties as a barista, baker, and hot foods line cook. As a hot foods major at Atlantic Cape Community College in Mays Landing, NJ, she received her associate’s degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts. At home, she enjoys gardening, nutritional therapy, organics, DIY natural home and skin care products, outdoor exercise activities, and brewing kombucha tea.
About Bhavin Patel, D.D.S.
Dr. Patel is a prosthodontist at Seaview Dental Arts in Galloway Township, NJ. He specializes in aesthetic, reconstructive and implant dentistry. He graduated from Seton Hall University and received his Doctoral Degree from NYU. He later completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Patel continued his education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey to become the certified Prosthodontist he is today. Dr. Patel often goes on trips donating his time and expertise to spread his goal of creating beautiful smiles with maximum comfort.
