AtlantiCare’s commitment to those it serves is always at the forefront – including during the holiday season. AtlantiCare, a member of the Geisinger Health System, contributed to those in need in many ways over the last several weeks.
Donations and giving included, but were not limited to:
• AtlantiCare Mission HealthCare, which cares for homeless, collected hats, gloves, and essential items for the homeless. Program representatives distributed these gifts at Mission HealthCare’s annual Homeless Vigil December 21.
• Staff from at least 49 departments and/or service programs throughout AtlantiCare – including clinical, business and other areas – donated gifts to more than 230 children through AtlantiCare’s Holiday Gift Sharing Program. AtlantiCare volunteers sorted and bagged the gifts for to 71 families. Organizations and agencies that benefitted included:

⎫ ABH’s Buena Youth Center and Buena Teen Center, at Buena Middle School and Buena High School, Buena, respectively; and the ABH Oakcrest Teen Center, Oakcrest High School, Mays Landing
⎫ Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City
⎫ Community FoodBank of New Jersey Southern Branch
⎫ Hammonton Family Success Center, Hammonton, which AtlantiCare operates
⎫ New Day Family Success Center, Egg Harbor Township
⎫ Pleasantville Housing Authority, Pleasantville
⎫ Reeds Road School, Galloway
⎫ United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey
• AtlantiCare’s leadership team made a monetary donation to the Community FoodBank.
• Individual providers, staff, and leaders made donations of toys, clothing, and/or gift cards to individuals and families in need.
“We know the holidays can be a difficult time for families,” said Maureen Hope, volunteer supervisor, AtlantiCare and organizer of the Holiday Gift Sharing Program. “Through the Holiday Gift Sharing Program and the many other ways of giving in which AtlantiCare was involved, our providers and staff have embraced the spirit of the season.”
