For Immediate Release: April 21, 2017
The AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Atlantic City Campus Auxiliary is seeking applicants for the 2017 Martha B. Keates Fellowship Fund from those pursuing nursing education.
The fund honors the late Martha B. Keates, long-time volunteer and past ARMC City Auxiliary president. The Auxiliary founded the Martha B. Keates Fellowship Fund for nursing students in recognition of Keates’s community service and her Auxiliary membership, as well as in support of the nursing profession.
Applications are open to Atlantic County residents. Applicants must be high school graduates enrolling or enrolled in a nursing program, or who have completed the pre-requisites of a nursing program. Children and grandchildren of ARMC Auxiliary members are not eligible.
Applicants must submit a completed application, a 250-word essay on why they have chosen nursing as a career, a copy of their transcripts, and two letters of recommendation (from non-relatives) by June 13, 2017. They should also provide supporting documents relevant to community service or volunteer work, awards, certificates, commendations and/or other recognitions. For electronic and downloadable applications, or for more information about the Martha B. Keates Fellowship Award, visit the Careers section of AtlantiCare's website.
Fellowship funds will be applied toward tuition fees or book purchases and other appropriate educational expenses as determined by the Martha B. Keates Nursing Fellowship Fund Committee. The amount of the disbursement is at the discretion of the Auxiliary.
