to host “Ribbons of Hope” Field Day
Event to benefit AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute

Details:           Assumption Regional Catholic School will host a “Ribbons of Hope” Field Day and Fundraiser Friday, June 2. Proceeds will benefit the AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute, a Fox Chase Cancer Center Partner.

Students will become part of their grade-level classroom teams. Their teachers will act as team captains. They will fundraise as a team and participate in several fun-filled and educational events. The event is an opportunity to involve students in a philanthropic event, while teaching them about prevention, detection and treatment of cancer.

After 3 p.m., the event will open to the public. Community teams will participate in the games.

Activities will include education; face painting; a bounce obstacle course; yoga with Grow Yoga of Galloway, NJ; live entertainment, auction, and food vendors. The Dr. Jan Astin Mobile Mammography van will also be on site from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. to provide free mammograms.

The event will also include a celebration of survivors. A closing ceremony will pay tribute to those who have lost their fight against cancer and those who continue to fight.

AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute, a Fox Chase Cancer Center Partner has locations in Egg Harbor Township and Cape May Court House, New Jersey. AtlantiCare’s experienced cancer care physicians and specialists include those who have academic appointments at Fox Chase Cancer Center, including several who are members of the Fox Chase Cancer Center Hematology/Oncology Department. They work in close partnership with certified nurse practitioners, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and social workers. This team offers the full spectrum of cancer care—from evaluation and diagnosis to treatment, clinical trials, psychosocial support, wellness services and survivorship. The AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and the American College of Radiology for Radiation Therapy.
