AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness Atlantic City
to hold grand opening activities at Tropicana Atlantic City

The AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana, which opened April 20, will hold grand opening activities the weekend of May 8. Located on Brighton Avenue adjacent to Bluemercury Spa, the modern, dual-level fitness center features 101 pieces of the latest in cardio and weight-training equipment. There are also three rooms for health and wellness classes; and group fitness programs, including, but not limited to group cycling, Zumba®, Yoga, Tai Chi and other strength training, aerobic and mind-body classes. Executive locker rooms include saunas and showers. Guests and members have use of towels, washcloths, and toiletries. During May, new members will receive an AtlantiCare LifeCenter t-shirt, a free fitness assessment, two free personal training sessions and a workout towel. Grand opening events will include:

Friday, May 8 (LifeCenter opening at noon.)
• Heart Institute at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center to provide cholesterol screenings in the Quarter at Tropicana – 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• LiteRock 96.9’s Eddie Davis to broadcast live from the Quarter – noon to 2 p.m.
• Tours of LifeCenter – noon to 9 p.m.
• Free body composition screenings – noon to 9 p.m.
• Free access to LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana – noon to 9 p.m.

Saturday, May 9
• Free access to LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana – 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Tours of LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana – 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday, May 10
• Mothers receive free access to LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Tours of LifeCenter – 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Free body composition screenings – noon to 9 p.m.

Members and guests access the center through The Quarter or directly from the street. AtlantiCare’s certified fitness professionals and customer service representatives staff the center. To fully integrate the AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness into the Tropicana resort experience, AtlantiCare LifeCenter staff will also lead select classes at Tropicana’s pool, beach and its Boogie Nights nightclub.

The AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness at Tropicana is part of $50 million in approved renovations planned by Tropicana. The projects are funded by Tropicana Atlantic City Corp. and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. The Center is AtlantiCare’s second fitness facility. The AtlantiCare LifeCenter in the AtlantiCare Health Park, Egg Harbor Township opened in February, 2004.

The AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness at the Tropicana is open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. AtlantiCare requires a minimum age of 18 years for an individual membership. The LifeCenter allows family memberships to include members ages 16 years and older. A parent or guardian must accompany members under the age of 18 at all times in the LifeCenter. The LifeCenter offers corporate, senior and student membership rates.
