For Immediate Release: September 16, 2015
The American Heart Association (AHA) recently recognized AtlantiCare as a Platinum-Level Fit-Friendly Worksite for helping employees eat better and move more – one of only 11 Platinum Fit-Friendly recognized worksites in New Jersey.
The Fit-Friendly Worksite program is a catalyst for positive change in the American workforce by helping worksites make their employees’ health and wellness a priority. The American Heart Association is working to change corporate cultures by motivating employees to start walking, which has the lowest dropout rate of any physical activity.
AtlantiCare also received the only Community Innovation Award in New Jersey – one of only 11 awarded nationwide. The Community Innovation Award is given to a worksite that leads the development and implementation of innovative, effective programs that promote physical activity not only in the workplace, but also in the community.
