Accomodations

A block of rooms is reserved at Bally's Hotel and Casino, which is located one block from the hospital. To make reservations, contact the Reservations Department by calling 1-800-345-7253 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Each individual must identify themselves with ATLS in order to receive the discounted rate. Any reservations made after the cut-off date are on a space availability basis at the current rack rates.

ATLS® Course For Doctors
The ATLS® Course teaches well-established treatment methods and approaches trauma care in a systematized manner, presenting to the doctor a concise method of establishing assessment and management priorities in the care of the trauma patient.
The Need

♣	Injury is precipitous and indiscriminate

♣	The doctor who first attends to the injured patient has the greatest opportunity to impact outcome

♣	The price of injury is excessive in dollars, as well as human suffering

Course Objectives
The ATLS® Course provides the participant with basic knowledge necessary to:

♣	Assess the patient’s condition rapidly and accurately

♣	Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority

♣	Determine if the patient’s needs exceed a facility’s capabilities

♣	Arrange appropriately for the patient’s definitive care

♣	Ensure that optimum care is provided

Student and Instructor Courses
Medical core content is taught interactively in the Student Course. Student Course participants, identified as having instructor potential, may advance to the Instructor Course, which focuses on how to teach the ATLS® Student Course
CME Credit
As an organization accredited for continuing medical education by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the ACS designates that this CME offering meets the criteria for hour-for-hour credit in Category1
