AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center recently welcomed David Kashmer, MD, to its Medical Staff as director, Division of Trauma.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery and in surgical critical care, Kashmer joins AtlantiCare from the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, PA., where he served as the section chief of Acute Care Surgery, which includes Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Emergency General Surgery.
Kashmer earned his Medical Doctor degree from MCP Hahnemann University – now Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA and his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Villanova University, Villanova, PA, through a joint BS-MD program with MCP Hahnemann. He also earned a Lean Six Sigma master black belt certificate at Villanova. Kashmer holds a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC. He served as an assistant professor of surgery at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Blacksburg, VA.
Kashmer completed a trauma and surgical critical care fellowship with the Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, PA and a fellowship in abdominal transplantation at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. He completed a general surgery residency and internship at Carilion Health System, Roanoke, VA, and holds certifications in advanced cardiovascular life support and in advanced trauma life support as an instructor and course director.

Kashmer has authored and presented numerous research papers. He is an amateur magician, plays the piano and the guitar, and enjoys cooking. He resides in Brigantine.
