The Atlantic County Bar Association, in partnership with the AtlantiCare Foundation, will host a free estate and charitable gift planning seminar Friday, June 10 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Atlantic City Country Club, One Leo Fraser Drive, Northfield, New Jersey. The event is open to the public, and will be of particular interest to certified public accountants, and estate and financial planners.
Christopher A. Jones, Esquire, associate, Ballard Spahr, LLP, Philadelphia, Pa., will discuss estate and charitable gift planning, including:
• Giving by private foundation
• Giving through donor advised funds (DAFs)
• The Permanent IRA Charitable Contributions Act of 2015
• Real estate transfer tax rules for trusts
• Giving through use of a bargain sale
The seminar will include breakfast at 8 a.m. and the presentation from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Registered attendees will be eligible for a discounted golf rate (inclusive of greens fees, cart fees, practice range and range balls) following the event.
Ballard Spahr is an approved program sponsor through the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Board of Continuing Legal Education. Additionally, unregistered sponsor course documents to self-report will be provided for New Jersey State Board of Accountancy and Certified Financial Planner Board to qualify for CPE and CFP credits. Therefore, attendees can earn CLE, CPE and CFP credits. When registering, please indicate the type of education credits that are most appropriate for your professional needs.
