The Heart Institute at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, Pomona will host a bus trip to New York City Saturday, September 7 to benefit the ARMC Heart Heroes Matching Funds Program. Buses will leave from the Airport Commerce Center, 6550 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township at 8 a.m. Buses will return to the Airport Commerce Center at approximately 8 p.m. Ticket price of $75 includes admission to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and a Circle Line Sightseeing Liberty Cruise. The ARMC Heart Heroes is a volunteer group that raises funds for the Heart Institute at ARMC through the AtlantiCare Foundation to place AEDs in the community. The Heart Heroes fund a portion of the AED and community groups and/or organizations provide the remaining funds. AEDs can restore a normal heart rhythm in victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Audible and/or visual prompts guide the user through the process. Since implanting matching funds program began in 2002, AtlantiCare has presented 101 AEDs in schools, police and fire departments, various municipalities, community organizations, parks, businesses, and faith-based organizations.
