Maternity and Newborn Unit

ARMC recognizes that visits from family members, including children, are important to celebrate the arrival of the new family member. Please ensure that an adult supervises children at all times and that the noise level is kept to a minimum for the benefit of your neighboring patients.

If a visiting child’s behavior disturbs the well-being or comfort of others on the unit, we might ask an adult visitor to accompany the child away from the Center for Childbirth.

Maternity (Mainland Campus Only)

  • Fathers or significant others (the person with a matching baby band) may visit at any time.
  • All other visitors may visit from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

  • For the safety and well-being of all babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, only parents may visit the NICN (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). For specific information, please call 609-404-3817.

Tips for Family and other Visitors

  • Family and visitors should not touch medical equipment. If you have an equipment question or concern, please call the nurse.
  • Friends and family who are sick should refrain from visiting patients. This protects the patient, other patients, hospital staff and the person who is ill.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or disinfect with hand antiseptic. You should clean your hands when entering the hospital, before and after eating, after using the restroom and before and after visiting a patient.
  • Privacy is important for every patient. Please respect any request for privacy from doctors, nurses or other patients.
  • Please respect the right of all patients to a quiet and restful stay.
  • Your loved one might be under dietary restrictions. Please speak with the care team before giving food to the patient or bringing it into the patient’s room. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the hospital.
