AtlantiCare’s team looked to the sky – and the future – today. They celebrated the placement of the ceremonial last beam of the $75 million expansion of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Mainland Campus in Pomona, NJ. AtlantiCare providers, leaders and staff signed the steel and wrote inspiring messages on it before NJ Ironworkers Local 399 hoisted the beam into place. The multi-phase project will include the addition of two floors, and approximately 35,000 square feet to the existing two-floor Meadow Pavilion of the campus. It will also feature the renovation of 23,000 square feet of the Meadow Pavilion and of additional areas of the hospital.

“This expansion is one of the many ways we are enhancing our programs and services to care for our community today and in the future,” said Larisa Goganzer, MSN, RN, chief operating officer, ARMC. “We continually strive to enhance the care experience and environment for our customers, staff, and providers.”

Expansion highlights will include:

  • 50 new state-of-the-art private medical/surgical patient rooms, 12 of which will have bedside dialysis capability.
  • A new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 14 private rooms.
  • A new 12-bed Observation Unit where the existing ICU is.

AtlantiCare estimates it will open the new medical/surgical patient rooms in 2024. It anticipates completing the expansion in 2025, the same year it will mark the 50th anniversary of the 1975 opening of the Mainland Campus.
