Health Equity and Inclusion

Health Equity and Inclusion

Dedicated to serving and building healthy and vibrant communities grounded in inclusion, respect and appreciation for others.

Why Is Inclusion Important in Healthcare?

Inclusion promotes health equity by ensuring healthcare services are accessible to everyone. It also helps care providers so they are better equipped to understand, communicate with, and care for patients from all backgrounds. When we include everyone, we get new ideas and better ways to help patients.

Community Engagement

Inclusion extends beyond our buildings. AtlantiCare values its dialogue with the community, through advisory committees, focus groups, surveys, and gathering feedback. We use what we learn to make sure all our patients and visitors feel supported and receive the high-quality care they deserve. By engaging with the community, we innovate to reduce barriers and improve outcomes.

Health Equity: Committed to Improving Health Outcomes for All

AtlantiCare is dedicated to enabling everyone to attain their optimal health and eliminating health disparities. We work to remove barriers by offering community screenings, educational programs, and addressing social factors like safe housing and access to nutritious food.

We also conduct a triennial Community Health Needs Assessment to identify and address unmet needs.

AtlantiCare remains committed to safe, equitable healthcare by respecting differences, understanding individual perspectives, and leveraging cultural competence to build healthier communities.
