When an Alternate Care Site opened in the Atlantic City Convention Center to treat patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, Viviana Faunce, RN, MSN, AGPCNP-BC volunteered to help staff it.

This is just the most recent example of the compassion and empathy she feels for others, a spirit she brings to AtlantiCare Physician Group, Neurology as an Advanced Practice Nurse. “When I’m with my patients they know I’m there for them. I’m not just writing scripts. I care about their health and wellbeing,” she says. “I’m here to treat the whole person. Whatever I need to do to help my patients live a better life, I will do it.”
Faunce began her career at the South Jersey AIDS Alliance in Atlantic City as a case manager. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Drexel University and a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, at Stockton University.
At APG, Neurology, she treats patients with a variety of neurological disorders. To do so, she draws on her experience as a staff nurse and nurse practitioner, with several years of experience as a hospitalist and in primary care. Working with patients to identify their individual needs, she creates a treatment plan that is best for them. “Knowing that I helped by educating them and working together to develop a personalized plan to achieve their goals is very fulfilling,” she says.
Faunce is fluent in English and Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys entertaining family and friends at home, and giving back to her community. “I feel lucky to have what I have. I know others don’t have the same opportunities,” she says. “I have a good life and others don’t, so I should give back. It’s the right thing to do.”
