• Cost: Having your procedure at an AtlantiCare Surgery Center instead of at a hospital may save you money. Since our surgery centers are fully functioning operating suites, and there are no hospital room charges, costs are lower. Some insurance companies will cover certain surgical procedures only on an outpatient basis.

Outpatient surgery is not for everyone. If you have certain conditions, such as a history of heart attack or stroke, you will likely have to be hospitalized for surgery. Your surgeon, anesthesiologist and care team will work together to help determine if same-day surgery is right for you.
