Our Mission

Our Vision
Ensuring that diverse voices and experiences are the foundation for building healthy communities together.
Why Is Diversity Important in Healthcare?
A culture of diversity and inclusion in healthcare encourages all employees to contribute their unique ideas, backgrounds, talents and experiences. When we promote open communication, knowledge sharing and innovation, while prioritizing the experiences of a diverse population, we create a mutually respectful environment for our workforce and patients.
AtlantiCare is strongly committed to eliminating healthcare disparities. We enhance the delivery of our healthcare services for our diverse community by respecting our differences and leveraging cultural competence to build healthy communities.
At the heart of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy are our Employee Resource Groups (ERG). These groups are formed to unite employees with common identities, but in keeping with our commitment to inclusion, are open to any and all employees. Leading the way is our DEI Council, who will work with ERGs to ensure that there is an alignment of goals and initiatives across the organization.
To make this vision a reality, we:
- Foster a work environment that recognizes the benefits of diversity in healthcare and encourages expression of ideas from everyone.
- Achieve performance excellence by providing treatment and a patient experience reflective of our patients’ beliefs, backgrounds, and cultural and community practices.
- Address the changing healthcare needs of our diverse community through education.
