About Me
Conrado Sampedro is an advanced practice nurse with AtlantiCare Cardiology. He treats patients with complex cardiac and other medical conditions. He has been part of the AtlantiCare family since 2008 as an RN, working in trauma and neuro intensive care and in medical/surgical care. “I see people on the very worst days of their lives, having a medical crisis. I keep them safe and alive. Every day brings a new hope towards the goal of getting them back on their feet. It is very gratifying to see patients improve and leave the hospital,” Conrado explains.
Conrado is board certified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. After finishing his bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, he spent 25 years working in a variety of settings. He started his career at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila, Philippines and gained additional experience at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and at NYU Langone Hospital, Brooklyn, N.Y.
But the COVID pandemic motivated him to take the next step and advance his education. He earned his master’s in nursing from Walden University, Minneapolis. A native of the Philippines, he is fluent in Tagalog.
He says his big sister inspired him to a career in healthcare when she became a nurse. “I saw her helping people and doing great things,” he says. His father was a big influence, too. Conrado lives by his advice. “He always told me to do my very best, no matter what I am doing,” he recalls. “I want my patients to achieve a better quality of life. To do that I have to be dependable and earn their trust.”
He says he is excited to tackle new challenges at AtlantiCare. “We have a very positive, teamwork oriented environment,” Conrado says. “Your coworkers are always there to help you. You are never alone when taking care of patients. Teamwork and collaboration are deeply ingrained in AtlantiCare culture,” he says.
