Manpreet K Chawla, APN

Nurse practitioner Manpreet Chawla, MSN, APN, FNP-C, has spent a career actively building a healthier community. Manpreet joined AtlantiCare Physician Group Endocrinology in April 2019. She has spent most of her career at AtlantiCare, since earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Rutgers University, where she also double majored to earn degrees in biology and psychology. A lifelong resident of the Atlantic City area, she became a bedside nurse after admiring the empathy of the profession, observing how nurses took such good care for each patient, even though most are complete strangers. Driven to advance her education, she wanted to expand into diagnosis and treatment to have an even greater impact on the health of the people she treats. “For me, advanced practice nursing was the best way to better serve my community,” she says. She earned her master’s of science in nursing at Stockton University, with a specialty in geriatrics and a post-master’s certification in family medicine. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She speaks English and Punjabi fluently.\nEarly in her career, she worked on a progressive care unit in Atlantic City, managing a wide array of acute care diseases, specifically focusing on stroke and cardiac-related events. She also rotated through the AtlantiCare HealthPlex in Atlantic City, urgent care, cardiology, primary care and pediatrics during her clinicals while obtaining her master’s degree. That experience serves her well in endocrinology, as endocrine problems can affect many other areas of the body and are quite prevalent in the community. “Managing the many subsets of endocrine disorders is critical to avoiding complications and preventing hospitalization. That helps our patients live better lives,” she says.
