Kimberly Jobes, APN

Nurse Practitioner Kimberly Jobes recently joined AtlantiCare Physicians Group Neurology. She is board certified as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
\nKimberly has spent her entire career seeking ways to do her job better. After graduating from the bachelor’s program at Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, N.Y., she took the opportunity to see the country. With a friend, also a nurse, she worked in hospitals in Massachusetts, California, Hawaii and Washington – gaining experience in many areas of specialty, like cardiopulmonary, orthopaedics and kidney care. “I loved it. I got to meet new people and see new things and have new experiences,” she said.
\nShe realized she was most interested in intensive care. After four years on the road, she was ready to head back east. She took a position in the trauma ICU at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where she was exposed to many neurology cases, including stroke and head trauma. She also served as a nurse educator, helping her colleagues stay up to date on continuing education, required for nursing practice.
\nTrauma ICU is also the neurology ICU. From there, Kimberly had a front-row seat as AtlantiCare advanced into a comprehensive neurology service and stroke center. “I really enjoyed working with neurological patients and their families. Seeing how much they improve, with intervention and evidence-based practice, that’s the best thing,” she
\nsaid. She wanted to be even more involved and went back to school to earn her master’s at Monmouth University in Long Branch. Her first position as a Nurse Practitioner was in orthopaedics and sports medicine in Forked River.
\nNow, she is coming back to AtlantiCare. 
\nA native of Brick, she lives with her husband and two daughters in Little Egg Harbor. They love the beach, boardwalk and traveling to explore new amusement parks.
