About Me
Cardiologist Dr. Salman Siddiqui has a true passion to serve others. “My family instilled in me the idea of service from a young age. I pursued medicine because I wanted to help people, especially in their times of greatest need. Connecting with patients and their families gives me great joy,” he says.
Dr. Siddiqui is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is Medical Director of AtlantiCare’s Heart Failure Program, where he oversees the delivery of clinical services, quality assurance, educational activities, and overall strategic planning for the program. In his native Pakistan, he earned his medical degree at the Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, serving acting internships at Harvard Medical School, Yale School of Medicine, and Baylor College of Medicine.
He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston
and the Texas Medical Center – the largest medical center in the world – where he trained under internationally recognized leaders in the field of cardiovascular medicine. He did his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship training at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he was actively involved in the training of other physicians. He undertook postgraduate studies at Oxford University in England, where he was awarded the prestigious Clarendon Scholarship and served as the Clarendon Scholar in Residence in International Development and Health Policy.
On his return to the United States, he completed an additional fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplantation and Pulmonary Hypertension at Temple University School of Medicine, after which he served as Director of the Heart Failure Program at a regional healthcare system in central Ohio. “The heart is really at the epicenter of who we are. While cardiovascular disease continues to affect so many people, the field of Cardiology remains front and center in our efforts to help them live longer and healthier lives”, he says.
Dr. Siddiqui has been involved with American College of Cardiology’s advocacy work on Capitol Hill. He was selected as a Future Leader by the Heart Failure Society of America, was a finalist in a healthcare technology startup competition,
and was selected to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit hosted by President Obama.
Outside the hospital, he pursues a wide range of interests including current affairs, technology, and travel.
