Aneta Savine, APN

When she first came to America from her native Poland in 1993, Aneta Savine made a deal with her parents: she would return home in three months to begin medical school.

Four years later, she returned to her hometown near the Russian border, but only for a visit. Home – and her future in health care – was now in the United States.

“The ability to make a difference in someone’s life has always been my driving factor,” says Savine, an Advanced Practice Nurse with the Neurosurgery team at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. “Health care is a fast-paced, exciting and always changing career. Knowing it would allow me different opportunities has always been an incentive.”

In Poland, Savine completed nursing school before traveling to America. However, her degree was not accepted here, and she faced the prospect of starting from scratch. She did, first earning her licensed practical nurse certification before receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stockton University and her Master of Science from Drexel University.

For 11 years she worked in AtlantiCare’s Intensive Care Unit, providing compassionate care to her patients. Now she is a member of the Neurosurgery team, a development even she did not see coming when she began her general surgery rotation.

“I never saw myself in an operating room; it was just something I didn’t think I would like,” Savine says. “But those three months changed me. I absolutely loved it.”

In her new role, Savine savors the opportunity to make connections with patients on an in- and out-patient basis, as well as provide care in the operating room. It also allows her to use her critical care experience to care for the underlying conditions that may contribute to neurosurgical issues.

Health and wellness is not just a work passion. Savine is a spinning instructor and certified personal trainer. She enjoys curling up with a good suspense novel and spending time with her daughter.
