Susan Harte, APN

In her last year of nursing school, Susan Harte was hospitalized following a near-fatal car accident. Throughout her long recovery, she discovered the impact she could have on others and was driven to resume her career and give back to the profession that saved her life.
\n“My best outcome is my patients’ best outcome,” says Harte, an Advanced Practice Nurse with AtlantiCare Primary Care Plus. “When I am able to impact them in a positive way, to know that I am making a difference in their life, it’s so self-rewarding.”
\nHarte earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from American Sentinel University based in Aurora, Colorado, and her Master of Science in Nursing with a post-master’s certificate in Family Practice from Stockton University in Pomona. An Egg Harbor Township native, she draws on her experience as a nurse to build relationships with
\npatients and their families.
\nAs a member of the AtlantiCare Primary Care Plus team, Harte enjoys working with others to ensure patients receive the appropriate care. This relationship building extends to her patients’ families as well. “I love talking to families because it gives you a better picture of the patient,” Harte says. “They have to have faith and the confidence that
\nyou are going to do what is good and what is right, not only by the patient but by their wishes as well.”
\nDuring the long recovery from her own accident, Harte was exposed to many compassionate caregivers who made it clear that her recovery and success were their sole focus. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to paying it forward. “I want patients to see me as someone who cares and is there for no other reason but to make
\nthem feel better,” she says.
\nWhen not caring for patients, Harte enjoys spending time with her family, reading and crafting.
