AtlantiCare Physician Group Cardiology

Board-certified specialists at AtlantiCare Physician Group (APG) Cardiology treat patients with a history of heart attacks, heart disease, heart rhythm disturbances or other cardiac conditions. Our highly skilled cardiologists offer evaluation, treatment and care – from medical consultations and second opinions, to the oversight and interpretation of medical tests to detect problems in the heart, heart valves or blood vessels.

Diagnostics

The Cardiac Diagnostics Center at AtlantiCare offers advanced diagnostic tests and tools to further understand the complexity of disease, injury, and congenital (inherited) or acquired abnormalities that affect the heart. 

Cardiac Catheterization

Our dedicated Cardiac Catheterization & Rhythm Center provides access to emergency angioplasty and stenting, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And, as the only designated ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) center in the region, the Heart & Lung Institute is equipped to provide the rapid intervention and expert treatment needed for even the most serious type of heart attack. 

Electrophysiology

An irregular heartbeat doesn’t have to keep you from the life you love. Our expert electrophysiologists (EPs) can help get your heart and life back in rhythm with everything from pacemaker or defibrillator implants to minimally invasive ablation and hybrid techniques for disorders that do not respond well to traditional treatments.

Structural Heart

The Structural Heart Disease Program at AtlantiCare provides innovative treatment options for patients with valve disorders and structural heart defects. Our expert medical team is composed of highly experienced interventional cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, who use minimally invasive catheterization procedures to treat cardiovascular disease and innovative techniques to treat life-threatening structural heart disorders.

Cardiothoracic Surgery

Our surgical teams diagnose and treat problems of the heart, lungs, esophagus and chest. Should you require surgery for your condition, your heart is in good hands at AtlantiCare. Cardiac Surgery

Cardiac surgery is surgery on the heart or great vessels performed by cardiac surgeons. It is often used to treat complications of ischemic heart disease; to correct congenital heart disease; or to treat valvular heart disease.

Thoracic Surgery

Specialists manage diseases of the lungs, esophagus/stomach, mediastinum, diaphragm, and chest wall. Surgeons at AtlantiCare work closely with colleagues in gastroenterology, oncology, pulmonology, radiation oncology and other specialties to ensure that you receive comprehensive, innovative and supportive care.

Interventional Pulmonology

is a new field within pulmonary medicine focused on the use of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for patients with lung cancer, airway disorders, and pleural diseases.

Vascular Surgery

We offer a wide variety of open surgical and endovascular treatment options for vascular disease, including new techniques for better precision and less incision. Many of our vascular services are performed as same-day procedures, allowing you to recover comfortably at home.

Cardiac Critical Care

Our Heart & Lung Institute is made up of intensivists with expertise in cardiac critical care who treat our most seriously ill patients. Our critical care doctors treat people who need advanced monitoring and care.

Heart Failure

AtlantiCare’s Heart Failure program provides a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for patients with congestive heart failure and all types of heart muscle disease. The team is prepared to support you with a unique plan of care that offers the most effective treatments available, including advanced therapies and minimally invasive surgical options

Cardio Oncology

is a growing field that seeks to merge cardiology and oncology fields to provide comprehensive care for patients before, during, and after cancer therapies. AtlantiCare is pleased to offer our patients a collaborative approach to diagnose, prevent and manage the effects of cancer treatment on the heart. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy can cause a number of potential short- and long-term cardiovascular complications, such as accelerated coronary artery disease and ischemia, myocarditis, pulmonary hypertension, pericardial disease, hypertension, thromboembolism and arrhythmias.
