Healing Arts
The Healing Power of Art
It takes more than medicine to create a healthy community. The Healing Arts Program recognizes the role of the arts in the creation of beauty and serenity within a health care setting. Numerous studies show that clinical outcomes can be enhanced by incorporating the healing arts in the clinical environment.
That’s why AtlantiCare incorporated the healing arts into the Roger B. Hansen Center for Childbirth, the Emergency Department at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Mainland Campus and the George F. Lynn Harmony Pavilion at ARMC’s Atlantic City Campus, AtlantiCare’s Cancer Care Institute and into all of our smaller facilities. We are pleased to continue our commitment to the healing arts at the new AtlantiCare Health Park at Hammonton.
In addition to creating a relaxing visual experience for patients and visitors, AtlantiCare’s Healing Arts Program supports local artists and provides a visual and cultural bridge that celebrates the history and diversity of the community we serve.
Our facilities boast images created in a wide variety of mediums including mosaics, original oil and acrylic paintings along with limited edition prints, giclee prints, mixed media art, tile engraving, garden impression tiles, glass relief, fabric art, collages, photography and sculpture. These images serve to provide a compassionate, warm and nurturing environment for families, patients and caregivers at times of crisis, vulnerability and joy.
