About Me
As a neurosurgery physician assistant, Alexandra treats patients who need surgery for a broad range of neurological conditions, such as tumors, stroke, neurovascular problems and head and spinal injury. She collaborates with the neurosurgeons, assisting with diagnosis and taking care of patients before, during and after surgery.
“I feel lucky to get to spend time with patients throughout the course of their care. I meet the patient when they come to the office with a problem, and I am there for their surgery. It is so satisfying when I see them recover,” she says. “Then I know I really helped them.”
Board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, she earned her master’s and physician assistant certification at Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia. She also holds a master’s in biomedical science from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine and a bachelor’s in neuroscience from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa.
Alexandra always knew she wanted to go into healthcare and was encouraged to go into medicine by her own pediatrician, Dr. Cynthia Hill, who practices in Philadelphia. Alexandra even got to do a rotation with her during her PA training. Dr. Hill’s influence continues today, in how Alexandra treats her patients.
“I have been a patient so I know how that feels,” Alexandra explains. “I treat everyone the way I would want my family and friends to be treated. I want to make sure patients know I really care about them.” Alexandra is excited to join the neurosurgery team at AtlantiCare. “Everybody is supportive and kind, helping me to tackle the challenges of this position.”
