About Me
Robyn Cummings has lived and worked in southern New Jersey her whole career. She has extensive experience in medical-surgical nursing, critical care and women’s health – where she feels she can have the greatest positive impact. “Women’s health is my calling. It’s aligned with the nurse I want to be. Beyond taking physical care of my patients, I’m their advocate and their educator,” she says. “And I really like getting to know them across the entire lifespan. I have teenage patients, some in middle age and some older. With each, I work to build trust and encourage them to take an active role in their care.”
Robyn cares for women before, during and after pregnancy and also manages pelvic and urological disorders. “The work is very rewarding, especially the urological care. We often see dramatic results that significantly improve quality of life, especially with urinary incontinence. So many women think they have to ‘just live with it.’ But we can often make a real difference,” she says.
Robyn is board-certified as a women’s health nurse practitioner by the National Certification Corporation. She earned her master’s in nursing at Rutgers University School of Nursing, Camden; her bachelor’s at University of Delaware, Newark; and her R.N. at Rowan College of South Jersey, Vineland.
Robyn works hard to prevent her patients from feeling rushed or confused. “I want to be that person who spends the time to make sure every patient understands everything that’s going on. I want them to be part of the plan,” she says.
She says she’s proud to be part of AtlantiCare’s commitment to providing the full spectrum of women’s health. “Instead of going to multiple locations, we’re building a service where everything is available here. We do just about everything, from primary care to very specialized urological care. It’s much more convenient and our patients really appreciate that,” she says.
