What to Bring to the Hospital
If your hospital stay is scheduled, you will want to know what to bring and what to leave at home.
Comfort Items
ARMC will provide basic care items for patients who need them. We want you to be comfortable. You are welcome to bring your own personal items, including:
- Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving kit, etc.)
- Change of underwear and socks
- Sleepwear or pajamas
- Bathrobe
- Slippers
- Denture and eyewear cases
For your safety and ours, please do not bring any electrical appliances or devices.
Valuables and Personal Items
If your hospital stay is scheduled, plan to leave valuables at home. If you arrived in an emergency, it is best to have a friend or family member hold cash, jewelry, credit cards and any other valuables. If help from friends or family is not available, tell the nurse. A Security staff member will respond to help you and secure your valuables in the hospital safe.
When you wish to retrieve valuables stored in the hospital safe, please ask your nurse to call Security. The Security officer will retrieve your items once your identification is confirmed.
Please take care keeping track of eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids and prosthetics. Patients sometimes wrap these items in paper or napkins and leave them on tables or meal trays. This can lead to their being thrown away during cleaning.
