Ina Dubnavitskaya grew up in southern Belarus. Being raised in a small town, there was limited access to high-quality care, which made quite an impression on her.

\n\n

Seeing friends, neighbors and family members experience delays in their medical care, she found a passion for medicine very early on. It brought her to America to pursue a career in healthcare that has led to her role as a physician assistant for the AtlantiCare Neurosciences Institute.

\n\n

“It gives me a deep sense of responsibility and purpose to care for my patients and watch them recover from what can be a potentially devastating event or illness,” Dubnavitskaya says. “It gives me great pride and satisfaction in what I do.”

\n\n

Dubnavitskaya received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Stockton University and earned her Master Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. At the Neurosciences Institute, she cares for patients with acute brain injuries, back pain, spinal injuries, tumors and more.

\n\n

She enjoys being part of the neurosciences team, collaborating to provide high-quality care to patients. As important to her is the need to communicate with compassion and empathy to her patients’ loved ones.

\n\n

“I always try to put myself in the shoes of patients’ families and think about how I would feel if I was in their position,” Dubnavitskaya says. “Caregivers often forget to take care of themselves, and they have to be healthy and well to be there for the person they love, so we emphasize that a lot.”

\n\n

When not caring for her patients, Dubnavitskaya enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter and traveling, particularly to visit family in Austria and Belarus.
