About Me
Kenneth Khaw, M.D., FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist with over 30 years of experience. Dr. Khaw joined AtlantiCare in 2005 because of its progressive healthcare culture. He is board-certified in interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and also by the National Board of Medical Examiners.
It was at a young age that Dr. Khaw first became interested in medicine. Many of his family members were doctors and he was inspired to follow in their footsteps. He’s always had a great desire to help and care for people when they need it most. Helping patients to achieve a healthy lifestyle is his greatest satisfaction.
His undergraduate education began at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a degree in bioengineering and then a medical degree from New York Medical College. He did his medical residency in internal medicine from 1988 to 1991 followed by a cardiology fellowship from 1991 to 1994.
Dr. Khaw has a special interest in issues related to atherosclerosis and congestive heart failure. He is also a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine – Cardiovascular Disease & Hypertension for Rutgers’ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has been involved with teaching at the school since 1994. He has three
patents with the medical school involving ventricular assist device and procedural equipment used in catheterization and angioplasty.
Prior to joining AtlantiCare, he worked for Associated Cardiology Consultants, PC which later merged with Lourdes Cardiology Consultants. He’s a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI).
Over the years, he has received grants for studies involving new surgical evaluation studies and procedures. He serves as a medical journal reviewer for the National Institute of Health and SCAI and has published dozens of cardiology-specific articles in medical journals. He understands the ever-changing state of healthcare and the
importance of being up-to-date on the latest technologies and treatments.
