Surgery
Surgery may be performed to remove a tumor as well as some surrounding tissue to help ensure the cancer is eliminated. In more advanced cases, removal of the organs may be required with a total hysterectomy or removal of both ovaries and fallopian tubes. If you do require surgery, our surgeons are specially trained in da Vinci® robotic hysterectomy. For you, this may offer significantly less pain and scarring, fewer complications and shorter recovery time than traditional hysterectomy.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy uses high-energy rays (like X-rays) to shrink or kill cancer cells and help prevent a recurrence of the disease. The rays can be specifically directed at the part of the body where the cancer is located, but it is rarely used in gynecological cancers.
