Vestibular and Concussion Rehabilitation
Schedule an AppointmentComprehensive treatment for your unique needs.
NovaCare Rehabilitation in partnership with AtlantiCare’s team of specialists are trained in a variety of treatment options for vestibular, inner ear disorders and concussion.
Vestibular
The vestibular system allows you to maintain good balance and clear vision. Vestibular disorders can impact independence and safety by fueling dizziness, vertigo and equilibrium.
If you experience vertigo/dizziness, imbalance and spatial disorientation, jumpy vision or difficulty seeing or nausea, our therapists will develop an individualized treatment plan that includes exercises to strengthen your posture, gait, vision, ears and legs.
The majority of symptoms can be helped through vestibular rehabilitation. Our goal is to minimize your dizziness, improve your balance and prevent falls by restoring function to your inner ear.
Concussion
A concussion can result from any impact or blow to the head, neck or body. It can result from a soccer ball to the head, a fall or car accident. You can also suffer a concussion if your body is jolted and your head is suddenly jarred.
Our team understands that concussion symptoms and recovery time are unique for every person. That's why we do a comprehensive exam and develop an individualized care plan to help get you back to the activities you enjoy.
Our concussion program consists of:
- Vision, vestibular/balance, cervical/neck and exertion testing
- Vision rehabilitation
- Vestibular rehabilitation
- Aerobic exercise training that does not intensify symptoms
- Balance testing and training
- Pre-season baseline testing
- Return to play protocol
- Return to work and life training
- On-field assessment and management to properly assess and manage acute concussions
- Education
