Yes, we have accreditation through ACGME.

Do you allow outside elective rotations?

Yes, with Program Director approval during the end of your PGY 2 and your PGY 3 rotations.

Do you have a fellowship program?

We do! Our cardiology fellowship will be brand new to the 2025/2026 AY.

Do you offer preliminary or transitional positions?

Our positions are categorical only.

Do you have medical students at your facility?

Yes, we host medical students during their 3rd and 4th year rotations from a variety of surrounding medical schools. All residents are expected to be respectful to the students and help teach them as well. Remember, you were just in their shoes not that long ago.

Are there any minimum score requirements for Step I or Step II?

There is no cutoff score for USMLE or COMLEX, however, we are seeking candidates with competitive academics.

How many positions are available per year?

We are a 4-4-4 program, welcoming 4 new PGY-1s every year.

Are you an OB heavy program?

We are not an OB heavy program. Our residents do two months of OB in their PGY-1 year.

What are the potential opportunities for scholarly activity?

Our program holds an annual research day that residents can present posters. PGY-2 residents participate in the NJ Learning Collaborative to work on a QI project. There are many scholarly activity opportunities at Atlanticare.

Where can I, as a resident spend time working?

In our GME office, we have a lounge dedicated to residents that has multiple computers and an area for work. This lounge allows for collaborations, quiet work, and access to all faculty members and the GME team.
