Sara Holder,DO, FAAFP

Program Director

Dr. Holder graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas health Science Center in Fort Worth. She served as chief resident and graduated from the Methodist Health System Family Medicine Residency Program in 2008. Dr. Holder is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). She completed the National Institute for Program Director Development Fellowship in 2020. She is active in national organizations, such as the Society for the Teachers of Family Medicine and the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors.

Dr. Holder has experience caring for patients in multiple settings and has worked in outpatient clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, urgent care centers and emergency departments. She has been active in clinical research for many years and enjoys mentoring residents during their research projects. Her interests include procedures (especially in the outpatient setting), mental health, chronic disease management and medical education.

Dr. Holder moved to the East coast in 2018 to start this new residency program and she and her family very much enjoy living in southern New Jersey. In addition to spending time with her husband and 2 children, Dr. Holder enjoys participating in CrossFit, cooking/baking and reading novels.

Oquendo, Maria, MD

Maria L. Oquendo Claudio, MD

Dr. Oquendo was born in Puerto Rico. She immigrated to New Jersey when she was one year old, and grew up in south New Jersey until receiving her high school diploma. She graduated from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey at the Newark campus. Dr. Oquendo earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the completion of pre-medical school prerequisites. She then attended Temple University Medical School, now known as Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, in Philadelphia, PA. Her Family Medicine residency was completed at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.

Family Medicine enables her to care for all age groups, from prenatal care to geriatric medicine and to end-of-life medicine in both in-patient and outpatient settings. As a Family Medicine Physician, she qualified to remain as the primary care physician for her patients as they transition into the various stages of life. In order to provide medical care as a Family Medicine physician, one must be knowledgeable in the various categories of medicine and be able to anticipate if specialized medicine is required.

Dr. Oquendo's professional interests include understanding and practicing evidence-based medicine, performing ambulatory office procedures and hospitalist procedures.

Paula Amin, MD

Dr. Amin grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She then moved to Columbus, Ohio where she completed her family medicine residency and served as chief resident at Grant Medical Center. Dr. Amin is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Amin came to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency program for the passion that the faculty, residents, and staff showed for providing high-quality, broad-spectrum care for their patients. Her clinical interests include care of under- and uninsured populations, reproductive health, and community medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, and exploring new podcasts.

Arthur Kwok, MD, MSc

Arthur Kwok, MD, MSc

Teaching Attending

Dr. Arthur Kwok earned his medical degree from St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He then completed his family medicine residency at Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Freehold, NJ, and was honored with a COVID-19 Hero Award for his unwavering commitment to care. 

Dr. Kwok's passion for medicine and making a difference in the lives of his patients is inspired by knowing "we are put in a role where we can change somebody's life every day. We [as doctors] are blessed with that opportunity, so that pushes me to get up every day and put my best foot forward".

Dr. Kwok speaks conversational Cantonese and basic French and Spanish. When enjoying some free time, you might find him on the beach, playing hockey or cooking/exploring different foods and cuisines.
