AtlantiCare Growing Green

artichoke iconIn support of AtlantiCare’s vision to build healthy communities, Growing Green AtlantiCare addresses root causes of chronic disease by increasing consumption of healthy foods through the creation of access points for fresh, local produce.

The AtlantiCare Foundation provides funds through its Growing Green grant program to create and sustain community and school gardens. These gardens improve the nutrition practices of youth and adults through the growth of healthy, sustainable foods complemented by wellness and nutrition programming. In addition, the gardens beautify open spaces and promote collaboration and empowerment among residents and community groups.

To date, AtlantiCare’s Growing Green initiative has funded the construction of 72 school gardens and 35 community gardens in Southeastern New Jersey, collectively impacting the students and members of our community.

Currently AtlantiCare Growing Green is accepting applications from established community garden groups, non-profit organizations, for funding to support their efforts and sustain their garden projects. Applications will be accepted from January 1-June 15, 2020.  Applications & Guidelines for funding can be found here. For further details please contact a member of the Growing Green team at: growinggreen@atlanticare.org.
