From childhood Alison showed interest in research science. She chose nursing as a means to that end, earning a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, NY in 1995. To Alison, the most significant aspect of bedside nursing is the transformation that takes place there--theoretical science becomes practical, tangible healing at the bedside. Her career with AtlantiCare began in the Emergency Department (ED) of the City Campus in 1996 and also has extensive critical care and peri-operative nursing experience.

In 2001 she became a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) through Rutgers University and worked closely with the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office in that role.  In 2010 she completed a Certificate in Legal Nurse Consulting through University of Delaware and opined independently on cases involving healthcare litigation and product liability throughout the United States. Her work in the legal field highlighted the impact of research on defining the standard of care for Alison.  She then joined the Clinical Research Department in 2014.  Alison most enjoys being part of the research today that drives the standard of care for tomorrow.  In 2019 she was awarded an AtlantiCare iCARE award for New Knowledge, Innovation and Improvements. In both 2020 and 2021, Alison served as a sub-investigator on award-winning research projects in anticoagulation therapy with students from Geisigner Commonwealth School of Medicine.

Alison loves a good mystery, raising her pet rabbits, Philadelphia Wings lacrosse, and “glamping” with her husband and son in their RV up and down the East Coast.
