What causes sinus infections and how are they treated?

Sinus infection are often due to inflammation and obstruction of the sinus drainage pathways. Typical symptoms include facial pain and pressure, nasal obstruction, yellow or green nasal drainage, fatigue and fever. Treatment depends on the severity of the condition and can range from nasal decongestants and antibiotics to surgery for more chronic drainage problems.

Can snoring be corrected?

Snoring is a common problem that may occur alone or in combination with obstructive sleep apnea. Primary snoring is often caused by vibration of tissues within the oral pharynx (the uvula and palate). Nasal obstruction can also be another cause. Mild snoring can often be corrected through simple measures that include losing weight, sleeping on your side, or avoiding sedatives and alcohol. Surgery can also help to relieve any nasal obstruction. If sleep apnea is the cause, there are many advances in treatment being made.
