Emergency Medical Services
Schedule an AppointmentEmergency Medical Services is one of the three branches of emergency services along with police and the fire department. Atlanticare Regional Medical Center Emergency Medical Services or EMS provides emergency medical treatment and transport of the sick and injured. We bring the capabilities of the hospital’s emergency department to the 9-1-1 caller in their home, at their workplace, even on the beach. We also provide basic and advanced tiers of interfacility patient transportation.
Our EMS Services Include:
- BLS – Basic Life Support provides basic pre-hospital care that includes patient stabilization and extrication, first aid and CPR. Our BLS crews are comprised of two certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basics or EMT-B's in an ambulance. Our BLS units provide 9-1-1 response to the municipalities of Hammonton and Mullica.
- ALS – Advanced Life Support provides advanced pre-hospital care that includes advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, intravenous access and medication administration. Our ALS units are staffed by certified paramedics. Our paramedics specialize in advanced detection of heart attack & stroke and will activate our specialized cardiac intervention teams at Mainland campus in Galloway and our specialized neuro intervention team at Atlantic City campus.
- SCT – Specialty Care Transport provides critical care transport to patients moving interfacility to specialized and definitive care. Our SCT units are staffed by a Mobile Intensive Care Nurse or MICN and a paramedic. Using an ambulance, our SCT crews transport patients throughout AtlantiCare and our partnered regional health systems.
- MAV – Mobility Access Vehicle – Our MAV technicians provide non-emergent transport for patients with mobility needs utilizing our wheelchair lift equipped vehicles
