Venous Disease
Schedule an AppointmentWhat Is Venous Disease?
Venous disease refers to conditions that affect the veins, the blood vessels responsible for returning blood back to the heart. When veins become damaged, weakened, or blocked, they struggle to move blood efficiently, leading to poor circulation, swelling, discomfort, and potential complications like blood clots or ulcers.
Venous disease commonly results from faulty vein valves that allow blood to flow backward and pool, causing increased pressure in the veins.
Venous disease can range from mild discomfort to severe complications but is highly treatable with early diagnosis and intervention. Lifestyle changes, compression therapy, minimally invasive procedures, and, in some cases, surgery can help improve circulation and relieve symptoms.
