Medicare Annual Wellness Visit
Schedule an AppointmentStay Ahead of Your Health
A Medicare Annual Wellness Visit is dedicated to your overall health, with a focus on staying healthy into the future — taking action now to prevent problems, surprises and medical expenses later. It’s covered by Medicare at little to no cost to you. Every 12 months, you’ll meet with your provider to review your medical history, identify risk factors, get advice and work together on a comprehensive health and wellness plan.
Why is a Medicare Annual Wellness Visit important?
Improves provider-patient relationships.
This visit gives you the opportunity to have open conversations about your health and lifestyle.
Helps you take control of your healthcare.
This is your chance to address concerns that may not be detected through a physical or health history.
What can you expect from your visit?
Health assessment.
Your provider will review your medical history, discuss your risk for diseases and help you develop a wellness plan.
Routine measurements.
Your height, weight and blood pressure will be measured in person during the visit.
Referrals as needed.
You may be referred for additional screenings or services outside this appointment which can help detect underlying conditions early, increasing positive health outcomes.
It’s not a physical — but what’s the difference?
Medicare Annual Wellness Visits aren’t meant to replace physicals but to supplement them. They have a different set of goals that, when combined with your annual physical, are critical to maintaining and improving your health and lessening medical costs — especially if you’re managing multiple conditions.
