SO, YOU’RE EXPECTING. CONGRATULATIONS!

Now what?

From your first flutter to your first midnight feeding, this is a precious, exciting, and sometimes confusing time in your life. Giving birth is both personal and profound. You need a partner who understands that each pregnancy and birth is uniquely special, and who will provide you with the complete, compassionate care you need.

AtlantiCare delivers more than 2,000 babies a year—we’re experts at giving you a truly remarkable, personalized birth experience in a warm, caring mom-focused environment. We’ll handle all your childbirth needs, so you can focus on making precious memories with your little one.

Here for You Through Every Step

Before and during birth

Depending on you and your baby’s needs, you’ll get a team of different providers working together to ensure your health, safety and comfort from pregnancy through delivery and beyond. This approach brings together skills and expertise from many different areas, including:

  • High-risk pregnancy specialists and neonatologists
  • Board-certified obstetricians, who provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Certified nurse-midwives, who work directly with our obstetricians
  • Nursing staff trained specifically in the care of mothers and infants

After delivery

Once your baby has arrived, we offer a variety of education and support programs for you and your whole family, including breastfeeding instruction and postpartum wellness. Our team also offers support for neonatal loss.

Level III Neonatal Intensive Care

Although most women have normal deliveries, some babies are born prematurely or sick. AtlantiCare has the region’s only NICU of its kind, so you can take comfort knowing that we’re ready to handle any complications that might arise right here — even for the smallest and most critically ill newborns. No matter what happens, you and your baby can stay right here for care.

Maternal-Fetal Medicine Program

AtlantiCare’s maternal-fetal medicine experts specialize in prenatal diagnosis, genetic screening, gestational diabetes and high blood pressure during pregnancy, and are here to closely monitor you throughout your pregnancy and postpartum period.
