CenteringParenting at AtlantiCare provides family-centered care, information and education for the first two years of a child’s life. This unique professional and peer-supported care program helps to ensure the health and well-being of mothers and newborns after prenatal care and pregnancy. As with CenteringPregnancy, you’ll be grouped with other new moms based on the age of your child.
CenteringParenting® at AtlantiCare
CenteringParenting at AtlantiCare provides family-centered care, information and education for the first two years of a child’s life. This unique professional and peer-supported care program helps to ensure the health and well-being of mothers and newborns after prenatal care and pregnancy. As with CenteringPregnancy, you’ll be grouped with other new moms based on the age of your child.
What You’ll Learn:
The individual care component is designed to provide your child with health assessments, immunizations and developmental screenings that follow the American Academy of Pediatrics Bright Futures™ guidelines. You’ll be involved and engaged at every step, helping to track your baby’s growth.
The group care component gives moms time to monitor their own health goals and learn together about key topics for new mothers. Providers will lead discussions about subjects that include:
- Stress management
- Nutrition and weight
- Family planning
- Attachment
- Safe sleep
- Breastfeeding
- Early literacy
- Development
- Safety
Begin at Any Time
This program works as either a continuation of your CenteringPregnancy care or as standalone care if you’re new to the program. Your partner or support person is always welcome to attend if you wish.
CenteringParenting is held at the AtlantiCare Medical Arts Pavilion in Atlantic City.
