AtlantiCare Heart Heroes AED Matching Funds Program

A partnership placing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in our community.

Matching Funds Program participation = $750 per AED placement

Organizations requesting an AED must meet the following criteria:

• Have a licensed medical authority (such as a Physician, RN, or EMT) provide medical oversight of the AED, to ensure quality control.
• Have personnel whom are responsible for using the AED, certified in CPR.
  • If a certification class is needed, contact the AtlantiCare Access Center at 1-888-569-1000 or your local Fire/Police Department, the Red Cross, or the American Heart Association.
• Attend AED usage training.
  • Initial training provided by AtlantiCare during placement of the AED.
• Conduct programs or services for the public, where there is potential for emergency response to a heart attack.
• Notify the local Emergency Medical Services office to inform them of the AED placement.
