Dreu Ann Monaghan, MSN, RN, CDCES
Director of Diabetes Program
Dreu began working for AtlantiCare in 2011 as an EMT. After graduating Ocean County College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Nursing, her nursing career began on 1 Meadow, a medical-surgical unit at ARMC Mainland. Then transferred to 6 Harmony, a neuro-tele PCU in ARMC City, before joining the AtlantiCare team in 2016. During this time, she also obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University. She became a Certified Diabetes Educator in March 2019 and enjoys expanding her knowledge in diabetes. In May 2022, she obtained a Master’s of Science in Nursing/Nurse Executive from Wilmington University.
Throughout her career in the medical field, she’s always had an eagerness to learn as much as the world would allow and help as many people as possible. When Dreu is not working on conquering blood sugars at AtlantiCare, she can be found spending as much time with her husband, their three sons and black lab as possible. They’re usually outdoors, particularly at the beach, in the Bronx watching her Yankees or singing along at a country concert.
Clara Macready, BSN, RN, CDCES
Inpatient Diabetes Program Coordinator - Atlantic City Campus
In 2003, Clara Graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She began her nursing career at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in the Neuro - Surgical ICU. In 2008 Clara relocated back to her home town and began her ICU career with AtlantiCare. Clara worked as a trauma ICU nurse until the birth of her two children. After the birth of her two children, she transferred to the AtlantiCare surgery center where she assisted with procedures in pain management. Knowing her true love of being at the bedside, Clara returned to the hospital as an ICU float nurse in 2015. Recently in January 2023 she was offered her dream job in diabetes education. As parent of a diabetic child, Clara is able to bring a unique perspective to diabetes education and is honored to share her knowledge, and experience with AtlantiCare patients and our community. Outside of work Clara can be found on the beach or cheering for her children during dance and crew.
Colleen Dougherty, Ed.M., BSN, RN
Inpatient Diabetes Program Coordinator - Mainland Campus
Following a career change, Colleen graduated from Atlantic Cape Community College’s nursing program in 2018, and attained her third degree from Rutgers University, her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, in 2020. Colleen began her career with AtlantiCare on 1 Meadow, a Medical-Surgical floor that became the COVID floor during the pandemic, where she spent 5 years at the bedside and served as an active and dedicated member of the Diabetes Care Committee. When not educating patients about the best ways to manage their health, she can be found at the beach with her husband, their dogs, and her large, extended family.
Felicia Ensminger, RN, CDCES
Outpatient Diabetes Educator
Felicia Ensminger graduated from nursing school in 1990. Felicia worked at the bedside for 17 years caring for patients in the acute care setting. She has been a diabetes educator since 2007. Initially she worked with inpatients in the hospital but then she began providing education for outpatients and found her true passion. Felicia loves being able to help people understand that diabetes means following a healthy lifestyle and still doing the things they enjoy.
Maria Colon, MA, RD, CDCES
Outpatient Dietitian/Diabetes Educator
Maria Colon was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She received a Bachelor in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed a dietetic internship at the Veterans Administration Center, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Maria started her career as a dietitian in North Jersey, and obtained the Registered Dietitian credential in 1979. Maria was employed as a hospital inpatient dietitian in different capacities in hospitals’ food service departments in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for over 20 years.
Maria had the opportunity to further her education and completed a Masters Degree in Health Professions Education from Seton Hall/UMDNJ in the year 2000.
In 2001, Maria had the opportunity to move to the outpatient/ambulatory healthcare. In 2005 Maria became a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). In 2014, Maria was recognized as the Diabetes Educator of the Year by the Garden State Association of Diabetes Educators. For the past 19 years Maria worked in Camden, then in Vineland, providing diabetes education to underserved communities.
Abigail Broschard, MS, RDN
Outpatient Dietitian, Nutritionist
Abby Broschard is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and graduate of Rowan University’s Master’s in Dietetics Program. As a prospective CDCES, Abby aims to recognize the individualized needs of each patient and provide the nutrition education and resources that best serve these needs. She believes that everyone deserves to have a secure relationship with food and to feel empowered on their health journey.
Brianne Collins, RN
Brianne began working in the medical field at 18 years old starting as a Patient Care Technician. After graduating Ocean County College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Nursing, she worked on a medical-surgical unit at Ocean University Medical Center. Brianne is currently furthering her education through Chamberlain University. She has always has had a true passion of educating others and helping them through their hardships. When not assisting others to great health, Brianne can be found with her husband, cat and dog watching football, being outside snowboarding or on the beach.
